@Last Software has announced the release of SketchUp 2.1 with section cutting tools. This sixth release of the 3D design software allows users to cut a section through their model in real-time to generate and export 2D plans, sections and elevations of their 3D model. Sectioning allows the user to slice the model and work inside for drawing, viewing and presentation purposes. It is an advantage for design professionals who are adding on to an existing home or building and for interior designers. It also allows the user to take a cross section of a model and export the section information directly to a CAD program or to create templates for cutaway illustrations.
