    James Hardie’s unique formulation of fiber-cement offers the look, feel and workability of wood, but without the maintenance problems. James Hardie resists damage from fire, insects, moisture, hail and flying debris, and is guaranteed not to rot, crack or delaminate for up to 50 years. Unlike vinyl, it can be painted any color and holds paint 3-4 times longer than wood. Remodelers can now wrap an entire home in the protection of James Hardie with a variety of siding products in different profiles and textures: Hardiplank lap siding, Hardishingle siding, Hardipanel vertical siding, Hardisoffit panels and Harditrim with XLD Technology -- the first one-inch thick fiber-cement trim. James Hardie also offers ¼-inch thick Hardibacker for floors and ½-inch Hardibacker 500 with G2 Technology for walls. More durable than wood or glass mesh backerboards, it is impact-resistant, non-combustible, dimensionally stable, easily scored and snapped and won’t crack or crumble when nailed.
